Haben Roboter auch eine Hinterbühne?

ICE 920 München - Nürnberg

10. Oktober 2017

Hinweis auf den Begriff Hinterbühne (Front Stage and Back Stage)

No matter where you are, you always “put a mask” to get where you want and to be part of something. - “The World is like a stage” by Erving Goffmann

Humans are:

- Active and knowledgeable

- Devise their own conduct

- Guide and control how others see them

- Different in social settings than alone

- Social Con Artists

Dramaturgy

- Stages or regions refer to the three distinct areas where different individuals with different roles and information can be found. There are three stages: front stage, back stage and outside.

- The Theatrical Representation of life

- Uses Impression Management as a tool

Erving Goffman:

“And to the degree that the individual maintains a show before others that he himself does not believe, he can come to experience a special kind of alienation from self and a special kind of wariness of others.”

We are all actors within the Social World, a central theme from Goffman work.

In a sense, we are call “Fakers” or engaged in a “Con Job” on ourselves to effect other people.

Goffman argues that the self is simply nothing more than “Self Presentations” and “Role Performances.”

Social life as a theatre, with social scripts, performances and actors & roles that perform in the Front and Back Regions of self. The concept of depicting social life as a Theatre, Goffman developed the term Dramaturgy.

Gilt die folgende These auch für Roboter?

"No matter where you are, you always “put a mask” to get where you want and to be part of something."
